Ayrshire Cleans
Restoring the region, one spot at a time
A personal and community project. Heading outdoors, getting fresh air, and tidying neglected corners, beaches, and paths across Ayrshire.
Easy read
Easy read: this page in short
- I pick up litter in Ayrshire.
- It helps my mental health.
- I clean beaches, paths and forgotten spots.
- I share photos and short videos.
- You can tell me about a messy spot with the form.
- Anyone can join in.
- One day, I hope to raise money for charity. Not yet.
Why it started
I live with ADHD, autism, depression and anxiety. Some days are hard. Getting outside and doing something practical helps me clear my head.
Litter picking gives me a reason to step out the door. Sharing it here keeps me accountable, so I keep going on the harder days too.
And it does some good. Every spot I clear makes Ayrshire a bit cleaner for everyone. Whether you pick solo to reset your mind, want to share a spot, or fancy joining in down the line, you're welcome here.
What I do
Beaches
Clearing litter and washed-up rubbish from the coast.
Paths
Tidying walking routes and trails.
Neglected corners
Giving forgotten spots some care.

Report a spot
Know a beach, path or corner that needs some care? Tell me about it here. Only the location is needed.
Stay safe
Please don't pick up needles, sharps or anything dangerous. Report them to your council instead: North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire or South Ayrshire.
Join in
Solo picks, sharing spots, or getting involved later on. Everyone is welcome.
How to join a clean-up
- Say hello in the Facebook group.
- Pick a time and place that suits you. Solo is fine too.
- Bring gloves and a bag, and share a photo after if you like.
Litter-picking safety
- Wear strong gloves. A litter picker (grabber) helps.
- Never touch needles or sharps. Report them to the council instead.
- Keep away from roads, cliffs, and the tide.
- Leave anything heavy, unknown, or dumped in bulk. Report it.
- Wash your hands after.
Report to your council: North Ayrshire, East Ayrshire, South Ayrshire (needles).

Future fundraising
Later on, if the project grows, I'd like to use it to raise money for charity. For example, a local environmental or mental health charity.
Nothing is set up yet. There is no fundraiser right now, and I'm not asking for money.
When it happens, I will pick a registered charity, use an official fundraising website, and share every update openly here.
